hello everyone

hello everyone.

i just wanted to thank everyone for turning up for the meeting yesterday. i hope that after that meeting, the reality of being in the exco seems more real to everyone of us..i sincerly hope that we all would be able to work well together and bring ech to higher levels. i believe that we all have the potential in us and we can do this, as long as we all stay together.

one lesson i learnt yesterday and would like to share with everyone

if you dream it, dare it, and do it.

i learnt that yesterday. i know all of us have our dreams and goals. but we have to dare to take the first step so as to do it. we are not to be afraid to make mistakes. and even if we do fail, as long as we know that we have put in all our effort. no one would look at us and call us a failure. i hope that all of us would be brave and take the first step towards achieving your own goals, and also the goals of the club.

a little excerpt from a sth i read: "We have to remember not to get trapped in this rat race. Can you step out and dream again? Can you wake up each morning and feel that sizzle in life, that excitement? Cause if you can, then you are taking measure and responsibility of your life. Leading your life effectively is Effective Leadership. You start with yourself, find that dream, find that excitement"

with great power comes great responsibility

as cliche as that sounds..it is really true. you know what, yes. we are leaders. and we have the power. the power to influence. we are put in the position not only to lead. but to serve. i am not sure about you all, but i just heard the term "servant leadership" not too long ago and i did some research about it. "It encourages leaders to serve others while staying focused on achieving results in line with the organization's values and integrity" this helps leaders learn to step off the controlling panel and look at how they are to be able to serve those reporting to them. i am not very good at the areas of leadership, but from what i have read. i have a few things that i can share about today. basically, i think that yes, we all need praises to work and it is a motivation. but humility is the thing that brings us back to earth. and thus, even as leaders, i believe that we too have to learn to serve.

lastly, i only have one last thing to touch on. i just want to say that, the reason i am really very on about doing projects on special needs, it is because that I believe that we can be their friends. i believe that we should not see them as people so much different from us. they are just like you and i. i think that if we can talk to each other so happily and be friends with one another. why not with them. they ARE our peers too. i am not sure how you all see this, but this is my belief and i feel strongly about this.

thats all from me..i wish that everyone would take some time. reflect about yourself and yes. i hope everyone has a good weekend.
